Zimbabwe is a safe destination for all travelers seeking to experience prime and pristine wildlife in Hwange National Park and to view one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls.
David Livingstone a Scottish physician and missionary explorer was the first European to discover and name Victoria Falls in 1855. Victoria Falls was already known by local people as Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke that Thunders) in reference to the columns of spray and thunderous roar of water from the Waterfall. David Livingstone, upon seeing the spectacular Victoria Falls said “A scene gazed upon by Angels in their flight.” The Victoria Falls is located on Africa’s fourth largest river, the Zambezi River. At its widest point, the Victoria Falls stretches for 1.7km plunging into a 108m chasm and, has a mean flow of 900 cubic metres of water per second.
Hwange National Park
Hwange National Park is located 100 km south of Victoria Falls and is the largest protected natural wildlife environment in Zimbabwe sustaining over 100 mammal species and about 400 bird species making it an epic destination for walking safaris.
